Road of Agony

This is my entry for the Nokia 3310 Jam 2022.

Road of Agony is a hardcore platformer inspired by Hollow Knight and Celeste.

Controls

• Up, Down, Left and Right to move the character arround and navigate menus.
  • Arrow Keys, WASD, ZQSD or IJKL.
• Dash/Accept
  • Space
• Back to Level Selection and Exit Game
  • Escape (or Backspace in the Browser Version)

Difficulty

This game gets very difficult. I don't actually expect that anyone will play it all the way through.

To hopefully counteract frustration I took the following measures:

• Level Unlocks
  • All Levels are unlocked from the start and can be selected at any time.
  • So if you get stuck or frustrated on a level, feel free to skip to the next one.
• Assist Mode
  • At any point in the game you can toggle the following Assist Modes:
    • Slow Down - Press V to toggle between the game running at full- or half-speed.
    • Unlimited Jumps - Press C to give you unlimited jumps in the air.
    • Invincibility . Press X to make yourself impossible to kill.

Road of Agony was made in the Godot Engine 3.4.2.

Sprites were made using Aseprite.
